Apple Crisp with Salad Topper
We love apple crisp. Easier to make that apple pies, made with basic ingredients. Yet, tastes just as good and will give you all the flavor you could ever ask for in a dessert.

Ingredients
Apple filling
- 6 Spartan apples (or your favourite type), peeled and cubed
- 15 mL (1 tbsp) of lemon juice
- 5 mL (1 tsp) cinnamon
Crisp
- 125 mL (1/2 cup) softened butter, diced
- 250 mL (1 cup) quick oats
- 175 mL (3/4 cup) of Salad Topper Smart Life
- 125 mL (1/2 cup) brown sugar
- 60 mL (1/4 cup) whole wheat flour
- 5 mL (1 tsp) cinnamon
Directions
- Place the rack at the center of the oven and preheat to 180°C (350°F).
- Use butter to grease a square of 20-cm, or 8-inches, on a baking dish.
- Pour the cubed apples onto the baking dish and sprinkle with lemon juice and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, mix all the crisp ingredients together. Use your hands to make sure that the butter is well mixed into the crisp to create a slightly sticky mixture.
- Spread the crisp mix over the apple filling.
- Bake in the oven for 50 minutes or until the apples are fully cooked. Let cool before serving.
