Healthy Oat Bars

1/3 cup of salted butter

1/3 cup of maple syrup

1 tsp of vanilla

1 egg

1/2 cup of unbleached all purpose flour

2 cups of oatmeal

1/8 tsp of sea salt

1 cup of original salad topper

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375F (190C)

Lightly oil and line 8x8"square baking dish with parchment paper

In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients

Melt the butter and maple syrup in a saucepan, remove from heat, add vanilla and let it cool for 5 minutes

Beat the egg in a small bowl

Add the melted butter mixture, the beaten egg, the original salad topper to the dry ingredients and mix it well with a spatula

Spread the preparation evenly in the mould and cook for 15 minutes or until golden brown

Let it cool completely

Cut into squares and store in an airtight container

Substitution

The butter can be replaced with margarine in the recipe

Do not add the salt if the butter is salted
